A few years ago I found out about a talk Brian Eno was going to do about the Long Now Foundation. In simple terms, the Long Now Foundation is a bunch of crazy, smart, mostly white guys talking about and attempting to plan for the future. Like, the FUTURE future, the next 10,000 years. I went to go see this talk with a friend and the line (full of hipsters, artists, science freaks, etc) extended for at least a football field.
We didn't get in. And then I forgot about it. Luckily the long now is still there. They've been having regular talks about time (and related subjects) for the past few years and ALL OF THAT SHIT IS ARCHIVED ON THE INTERNET.
How awesome is that?
